It was reported to Ontario PD that households that have alarm system yard signs are being approached by a company saying they are there to see if their alarm system is working correctly. The company is advising the homeowner that Schmidt Security has asked them to do it or is aware of them doing it.
The people reporting these incidents have said they thought the company was representing themselves as AMP or ADT.
Ontario PD has requested that any resident that experiences this contact them asap. Mansfield PD has also been notified.
